NATALIE DU TOIT GETS HER NEW BOXER

There was great excitement at the home of swimming star, Natalie du Toit, in Southfield, Cape Town, on Thursday afternoon (December 4, 2003) when Enid Rhodes arrived with Natalie's new Boxer female Charaine's Binga.
Binga had arrived about two hours earlier at Cape Town International Airport from her breeders, Terry and Lauraine Wilson, of Pretoria. There was an immediate rapport between Natalie and Binga, who promptly made herself totally at home. Natalie plans to take Binga wherever she can - to the beach, to galas and to spend as much time as possible with her.
Binga was a gift to Natalie from the Free State Sport Media (FSSM) in conjunction with the Federation of Boxer Clubs of Southern Africa (FBCSA). The FSSM had been distressed to learn that Natalie had lost a Boxer that suffered from a genetic defect. Knowing of their treasurer, Mrs Rhodes', long association with the FBCSA they asked her to identify a puppy that met the FBCSA's strict guidelines for the breeding of puppies without apparent defects. They wanted to present the puppy to Natalie at the Castle Lager Free State and South African Sport Stars 2003 banquet in Bloemfontein on November 14.
FBCSA colleagues helped to identify a litter with three females available. Unfortunately they were too young to leave their mother by November 14, so plans were made to courier photographs to Bloemfontein, from which Natalie could choose her new companion.
Natalie was overwhelmed when she was told about her new companion. As soon as she got back to the hotel, she telephoned mother Deirdre with the news, only to hear that Deirdre had been in on the secret.
Natalie made her choice and started to look for a name that started with "B", as the pup was from the Wilson's "B" litter. She is from Ch Tambay's Janosz out of Jakkalsdans Echo.
