STATEMENT BY THE FBCSA EXECUTIVE - MAY 2004
The Federation of Boxer Clubs of Southern Africa (FBCSA) is the officially registered Breed Society for Boxer dogs in South Africa under section 8(7)(a)(ii) of the Animal Improvement Act No 62 of 1998, registering its Boxers through the SA Stud Book and Livestock Improvement Association as the FBCSA's registering Authority. It is, therefore, the only legal entity entitled to register Boxer dogs in South Africa. The FBCSA’s constitutional breed requirements and membership of the Stud Book Association – a member of the International Committee for Animal Recording (ICAR) – were prerequisites for this registration.
As a result of this registration all imports and exports of Boxer dogs to and from South Africa should be screened by the FBCSA.
The FBCSA, whose stud book is internationally recognized by Boxer-Klub München, E.V., the “mother club of Boxerdom” has been a full member of the Association Technique Internationale du Boxer (ATIBOX), the international body for Boxer dogs, since 1998.
